The Newmont Tanami Gold Operations are located amongst the isolated Tanami Desert in the Northern Territory approximately 560 kilometres northwest of Alice Springs.
The Gulf Group has been operating in the region for 16 years and carts ore from the Mine Site on a 40 kilometre leed to the Mill.
With 4 Powertrailer Roadtrains (Body plus 6 Trailers), around 8500 tonnes of gold bearing ore is hauled on an average day to fill the needs of an insatiable crushing and processing plant. Approximately 3 Million Tonne is hauled per annum.
Gulf Group has the following equipment on site at the Granites, 5 Road Train Combinations, 4 Front End Loaders, a Grader and 1 Excavator working as a Rockbreaker
Gulf Group Granites has a total workforce of 36 personnel led by Trevor Porter Site Manager, Lance Ward 2IC, Ken Smith 3IC, Neal-Dean Spread in Safety & Training. 12 Roadtrain Drivers and 12 Operators are ably supported by a mechanical team of 8, fulfilling roles as fitters, boilermaker, service truck and tyre fitting.
